1989 SHOGUN ALPINE GT - $1150
It always bugs me when people say “if you know - you know” however with Shogun’s Alpine GT that actually does sum it up well. The scarcity of these bikes really hindered them in becoming the cult classic they deserved but anyone who has or had one will quickly attest to their greatness. Intended as a touring model, good tyre clearance combined with all day geometry that is surprisingly zippy when it needs to be makes these bikes an excellent commuter, gravel or endurance quiver killer with undeniably gorgeous, classic lines. This particular one has had a 700c conversion with carefully curated modern touches to blend perfectly with the original parts and features giving it modern performance without spoiling the retro aesthetic. A new chain and cassette has been fitted along with new tyres and bar tape so it’s 100% ready to roll for many, many kilometres to come. A tubeless conversion can be carried out at an additional charge.
