Whoever first uttered the words “you can’t keep them all” really needs a swift kick. When I first took possession of this frame I had two clear and distinct build concepts in mind. The paint is in great shape and glitters away nicely in the sun so either way I wanted it to be the star of the show. After a few mock ups, some clearance and compatibility issues I found myself heading in a slightly different direction. The end result is a very clean, classic looking dirt drop, gravel munching, lively 26” with the right subtle modern updates to go anywhere, climb anything and not spin out in a bombproof package. In short I just built it as if it was for me and I wish it was.
