TRANSITION SENTINEL

If you’ve ever been stupid enough to ask me about mountain bikes then no doubt I’ve talked your ear off about how much I love Transition.

Coming from a BMX background, appeal lies in rider-owned, smaller brands. As cliche’d as it may sound, I do believe that it’s important to support the scene but there’s much more to it than that. Transition frames aren’t just burly with all the right dimensions but they’re also really well thought out from a maintenance point of view. They offer features or sometimes lack there of that you won’t find on mainstream brands who will choose form over function and manufacturing cost cutting over a better product for the rider. Specifically I love that Transition frames use threaded bottom brackets and don’t internally route brake lines. These two things alone add easy serviceability and longevity which in turn means more time ripping through the woods and less money spent.

So when Dicko hit me up wanting a replacement for his Commencal Meta, something lighter and poppier, a bit more of an all rounder, just something more “fun” - we didn’t have to look long or far. The last carbon Sentinel available was quickly snapped up and on it’s way here. There’s not much else to say really, the build spec on most Transition completes is great so it was a simple top to bottom, front to back grease, adjust, torque, pop in a Cush Core and go shred affair.
