Surly Grappler
Marketed as a drop bar mtb, Surly’s Grapplers are a super underrated flat bar option. All day geometry that holds its own when the going get rough (or fun depending on how you look at it) with all the mod cons you need and nothing you don’t. A bombproof packer and all round good time - how can you go wrong?
From the moment I’d finished building one of the first Grapplers to hit our shores (then known as Ghost Grapplers) I was in love with these bikes. As long as you don’t want suspension a Grappler really is a bike that can do it all. Jason contacted wanting just that. A Pelago rack, Apidura frame bag, Son Dynamo set up with a sprinkling of top quality, reliable parts from Wolftooth, Thomson and KS really brought this bike together as one heck of an all round ripper. I can’t wait to finally get a chance to build my own Grappler but until then I’ll have to settle for making you guys stoked so hit me up if there’s a Surly Grappler shaped hole in your heart
